Case Study: Dreamfields Music Festival

WHAT THEY NEEDED

Dreamfields Music Festival was returning to Townsville off several strong years, into a contemporary festival sector contracting nationally. Events of its kind were folding around the country, and Groovin the Moo had already gone from Townsville. They needed to keep growing ticket sales against that backdrop, not just hold ground.

What We Delivered

We ran paid social and paid digital as the sales engine, structured around a segmented audience map rather than a single festival-goer profile.

The core contemporary music audience was still targeted, but deliberately not relied on – that was the exact segment contracting nationally.

Campaigns were built to drive social hype and FOMO, and to niche down far enough that whichever bucket a patron sat in, the message they saw was written for them.

The Results

Dreamfields exceeded its ticket sales targets by 43% and stands as the most successful boutique Australian music festival – in a year when comparable events were shutting down around the country. Growth came from well beyond the core music audience. The campaign returned a ROAS of 55. See how we approach festival marketing for events selling tickets nationally.
